Song: “Lines and Circles” by Strangefolk
Strangefolk is a fascinating case study of an uber-talented, tragically unheralded jam band operating in the pre-internet world of music. Before power shifted from the supply side to the demand side economies of scale and the floodgates of opportunity opened up for these lesser-known acts. Lore is one of the most underrated albums of the 90s. Enjoy the idiosyncratic lyrics of frontman Reid Grenauer.

Song: “Go Back Home” by Stephen Stills
CSN(Y) was often described as 4 solo artists somehow onstage together. Well, when you listen to the likes of Neil Young and Stephen Stills in isolation you can see why their stuff just shouldn’t be co-mingled. Has to live on it’s own. Stills debut album here had some firepower on it. I’m talking Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix (one of the last contributions made before his death). The last 3 minutes of this song displays the brilliant guitar work of Clapton and I use it weirdly enough as a pump up song on a lot of my runs. Fun to see Stills try to match Clapton in the live versions.
